Our winery
looks back on a wine-growing tradition that dates back to 1580. Today we cultivate 2 hectares of vineyards, which corresponds to around 10,000 vines, all of which are located on steep hillsides.
The controlled, environmentally friendly cultivation of our vineyards is a must for us in this day and age.
Since 1988, the vineyards have been continuously converted to full wire frames so that the vines can utilise the sun better due to the higher leaf mass. This has further improved the quality of the grapes. This conversion was completed in 2018, when the Roter Riesling was planted in the Zeppwingert vineyard.
Oak barrels are still used for ageing the wine. The advantage of this ageing method is that the fully ripe grapes, which we have been harvesting more and more frequently recently, give our wines much more character and finesse.
Every year, our wines are recognised for their high quality by the Landwirtschaftskammer.
